“We are not numbers. We are human beings. We all need to live in peace. After all, Arabs and Jews are all children of Abraham. We are cousins. And I think it’s about time to live together and solve this problem.”
—Suhaila Tarazi, director of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza.
Last month, St. James was honored to host Suhalia Tarazi, director of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza to hear how the war has affected their ministry and mission there. As part of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, the hospital does the work of Jesus in profound ways and it was heartbreaking to hear what has happened and inspiring to hear her continued and resilient hope for peace in the Holy Land for all people, regardless of faith or ethnicity.
