Director of Operations for Administration and Communication
Born in Shelby, NC and raised on Kauai, HI, my most cherished years were growing up in church as a pastor’s kid. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from UNC Asheville in 2009. I have always had a passion for people and I strive to create a positive, welcoming environment wherever I am. I enjoy establishing and maintaining strong relationships to the community and am thrilled to be another smiling face at St. James. I look forward to serving the church by using my skills and experience to facilitate an open, loving community for all! Since moving to Hendersonville in 2014, I have loved hiking our many magnificent peaks, camping in gorgeous wildernesses, attending many Minor League Baseball games and spending time with my family and my cat.
Director of Music Ministries
I have been Director of Music and Organist at St. James Episcopal Church since 2002. I conduct the St. James Choir, play the Harrison & Harrison organ for services, and oversee a multi-faceted music program which includes services of Choral Evensong followed by organ recitals. I have been a member of the Association of Anglican Musicians since 1996, have served twice as the Region IV Chair, and was co-chair of the Palm Beach national conference in 2000. I also served on the planning committee for the 2011 AAM national conference held in the Carolinas. I have served as housemaster at the Royal School of Church Music summer courses in Raleigh, Charlotte, and Wilkes-Barre, PA. Prior to this position, I was Organist/Choirmaster at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church in Winter Park, Florida where I played organ and harpsichord in Winter Park Bach Festival Performances, served as guest clinician for the Orlando Liturgical Conference and Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida workshops, and was Dean of the Central Florida Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
I was an active volunteer youth group leader in the Episcopal Church in Germany for years while working as an Art Director, specialized in corporate design. I heard my calling to full-time youth ministry as a volunteer member of the Episcopal Youth Event planning committee. Being open to where the spirit sends me, I landed here at St. James in Hendersonville. And I couldn’t be happier being your Youth and Family Minister. (Great things happen when you’re following your call.) I am excited to see what we can build together in the future.
Born and raised here in the mountains of NC, I love the small town feel and exploring the mountains around the state with my family. While spending my childhood being homeschooled by my family, I discovered the Episcopal church through the Holy Family Church out in Mills River and immediately fell in love with the warm reception, open minds, and loving faith. It wasn’t long before we came to St. James and joined our community here and found that same spirit and love in every part of the people that call this church their own. With my schooling finished, I set out into the workforce and worked a variety of jobs both big and small, but always with the support of my family and community behind. Being hired on to work at St. James in 2019, I hope to do this church proud and keep the place running as best I can! I love to go out into nature and photograph, but I also like to watch movies and other media when weather comes a’ calling.

Financial Associate & Bookkeeper
My husband and I moved here in 2015 with an eye to hiking in the mountains, exploring this part of the state, and possibly retiring here if we found the right community. In Hendersonville and St. James, we accomplished all our goals. I came to St. James on 2017 as the director for the School for Little Folks. I loved being a member of this valuable ministry and within a few years completed confirmation classes and joined St. James. When the decision was made to close the school, I knew I would miss being a part of the staff and church on a daily basis. Happily, after consulting with the rector, I was able to take the position of part time Facility Manager after the school was completely closed in April 2020. What a crazy time to start this position. The first things I had to do was set up hand sanitizing stations and make sure we had adequate sanitizing supplies. But I am so happy that there is still a place for me to serve God, the people of St. James, and the wider community. I hope I can continue to be part of this loving, welcoming, serving church for a few more years. Thank you St. James for embracing me.
Born and raised in Batow, Florida, I hold a BSEd (’76) and MME (’89) from Western Carolina University. Retired from teaching elementary music and folk art in Henderson County Schools, I currently volunteer at Historic Johnson Farm and playing guitar with Sassafras, a local bluegrass band. I also enjoy quilting, reading, TV and traveling in my Mustang convertible.
I lead Allelu!, our contemporary/folk music group which rehearses on Wednesday nights at 5:15 and we lead music worship on 2nd Saturdays (5:00) and 5th Sundays (10:00).
