Blue Ridge Consort will present a Christmas concert at St. James on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. The ensemble was founded in 2023 by like-minded musicians from across Western North Carolina to inspire and empower Appalachia with the art of choral music. The group is led by various conductors including Dr. Joshua Cheney, Mrs. Emily Floyd, Dr. Aaron Rice, and Mr. Brandon Winbush. The accompanist is Mr. Tate Addis, Organist at First Baptist Church of Asheville. The concert at St. James will include repertoire by Thomas Weelkes, Felix Mendelssohn, Jacobus Clemens non Papa, and also featuring voices of modern composers including Dale Trumbore, Mari Esabel Valverde, and Gabriel Jackson.
