As we all navigate this abnormal times, it feels good to do something normal. Normal for me was getting a real cup of coffee at Brown Bear on Main. As I was standing in line, I noticed a series of gallon sized, milk jugs lined up on a shelf with a simple sign that said “water.” Underneath, it instructed to take some if you need it. That coffee shop was utilizing its resource of empty milk containers to help. Nothing flashy, just water on a shelf.
For me it was writing out how to apply for FEMA help on an index card and attaching it to the frig in the work break room. I later heard someone reference that index card as an information spot. Made me smile with comfort that I could contribute in a small way. That I too could put water on a shelf.
